Mashford Homes + 2000 Mortgages Websites

Case Studies No Comments

No, we didn’t create 2000 mortgage websites, on the back of designing and developing the website for Paignton & Torquay based estate agency Mashford Homes, we were asked to create a simple site for 2000 Mortgages which would marry up with the Mashford site.

Richard Pound who runs both companies sent us this message: “I would like to send my gratitude and thanks for a wonderful job done on mashfordhomesonline.co.uk and 2000mortgages.co.uk . The websites look very professional and the feedback from our customers has been very complimentary. It has certainly helped us in winning more business. We are extremely pleased and would certainly recommend your services”

Design Work Experience : Georgia

Fun No Comments

Work Exeprience in DesignWe’ve had the pleasure of having Georgia in the office this week, who is joining us for work experience.  We did a little interview with her so she could discuss the work she did whilst with us and what she took away from her time here.

Tell us a bit about yourself… school/education, what you like, and what you want to do in the future.

My name is Georgia, I’m 15 and i go to school at Robert May’s in Odiham. I’m a massive fan of music, sport, movies and of course my iPhone! Thinking about the future scares me a little but i think i know what i’d like to aim for. If it all goes to plan i’d like to go to college and come out of that with 4 A levels in Media, Business & Marketing, Photography and Accounting! Then I’d do my best t get into my chosen Uni, get a degree in Marketing and hopefully start from there. Overall whatever happens i’d love to work in business.

What have you been doing at Jaijo?

I have been doing a lot of marketing research into targeting Estate Agents and Schools for Jaijo to approach. I have also written ‘Jaijo’s Guide to: Enhancing your business with Social Media’s’ which i found really interesting and now can tell my parents that me spending time on Twitter & Facebook isn’t all that bad after all! I’ve also enjoyed looking at ‘The Little Shop’ project that Jaijo has and i did some market research into that too!

Do you feel you’ve learnt anything useful, if so what?

I’ve learnt a lot in the past week from realising how important it is to have a ‘Jaijo Website’ but also i’ve learnt a lot more about marketing and how important it is to do market research. i’ve also learnt how important it is to work hard at whatever you want to do and if you do, you can achieve anything you like! Just look at Jaijo!

What have you most enjoyed about your week with Jaijo?

I’ve loved looking at ‘The Little Shop’ project but also i’ve liked the chance to be able to be in a working environment and be given more responsibility.

Have you been totally put off working in the design industry?

Not at all! This week has made me more interested in design and I think I might want to have a look into design to help me with my future targets!

Are you going to tell the world that Jaijo is the most awesome design company?

I will happily tell the world! Jaijo is such a great, modern and determined company and you always know you will get the best of Jaijo every single time!

Anything else to add?

Thank you so much for this experience, i’ve really enjoyed myself and i have found it so beneficial to me!

Many thanks to Georgia for joining us, it’s been a great experience for us and we wish you every success for the future. We reckon you could head up our marketing department in 5 years when you’ve finished with college and university!  It’s a shame that the government is scrapping the work experience scheme, definitely feel it can benefit both students and employers.

Click Click on the New Website for Leonie

Case Studies, Clients No Comments

Leonie Schwarz is one of our longest standing clients, now close friend and also our recommended photographer.  She commissioned Jaijo to redesign her website, which we had originally created about 5 years ago, so it was in need of a little bit of a revamp (although it had stood the test of time!).

It was a hard decision for Leonie as she’d asked a few people for their opinions on the layout and logo even though she had in mind what she wanted, and they said ‘keep the windows and don’t change your logo, we love it’.

It’s obvious that people don’t always like change and want to keep that air of familiarity, so we were tasked with keeping the principals the same on the new site, simple navigation, clean look, and beautiful images.  We have to point out here, that it really was the images that made the site, Leonie is exceptionally talented and takes a beautiful photo.  There’s nothing worse than creating a beautiful website and then given naff photography which then cheapens the look of the site, as you can see from this site, it’s definitely not the case.

So here we are… we designed a new logo, but wanted to keep my signature element so have included it through the website.

Leonie Photographer in Surrey

Leonie had this to say “I am thrilled with how it looks and as a photographer, it’s all about the images so it has to be visual and simplicity is key to make it user friendly, otherwise people will get irritated… and we can’t have that. If you need to add a touch of fabulousness to your business then you need the mind-blowingly creative Jaijo … and you’ll never look back!  Thank you so much Jai… I love working with you, your inspiring, so talented, incredibly patient and dare I say funny!! xx”

We’re really pleased with the site and really enjoyed the process (which was helped along with lots of cake deliveries), it seems to be working much better for Leonie who now has her blog directly integrated into the website.  We also produced some new stationery and business cards for Leonie, once again keeping everything very clean, elegant and simple.
