We’ve had the pleasure of having Georgia in the office this week, who is joining us for work experience. We did a little interview with her so she could discuss the work she did whilst with us and what she took away from her time here.
Tell us a bit about yourself… school/education, what you like, and what you want to do in the future.
My name is Georgia, I’m 15 and i go to school at Robert May’s in Odiham. I’m a massive fan of music, sport, movies and of course my iPhone! Thinking about the future scares me a little but i think i know what i’d like to aim for. If it all goes to plan i’d like to go to college and come out of that with 4 A levels in Media, Business & Marketing, Photography and Accounting! Then I’d do my best t get into my chosen Uni, get a degree in Marketing and hopefully start from there. Overall whatever happens i’d love to work in business.
What have you been doing at Jaijo?
I have been doing a lot of marketing research into targeting Estate Agents and Schools for Jaijo to approach. I have also written ‘Jaijo’s Guide to: Enhancing your business with Social Media’s’ which i found really interesting and now can tell my parents that me spending time on Twitter & Facebook isn’t all that bad after all! I’ve also enjoyed looking at ‘The Little Shop’ project that Jaijo has and i did some market research into that too!
Do you feel you’ve learnt anything useful, if so what?
I’ve learnt a lot in the past week from realising how important it is to have a ‘Jaijo Website’ but also i’ve learnt a lot more about marketing and how important it is to do market research. i’ve also learnt how important it is to work hard at whatever you want to do and if you do, you can achieve anything you like! Just look at Jaijo!
What have you most enjoyed about your week with Jaijo?
I’ve loved looking at ‘The Little Shop’ project but also i’ve liked the chance to be able to be in a working environment and be given more responsibility.
Have you been totally put off working in the design industry?
Not at all! This week has made me more interested in design and I think I might want to have a look into design to help me with my future targets!
Are you going to tell the world that Jaijo is the most awesome design company?
I will happily tell the world! Jaijo is such a great, modern and determined company and you always know you will get the best of Jaijo every single time!
Anything else to add?
Thank you so much for this experience, i’ve really enjoyed myself and i have found it so beneficial to me!
Many thanks to Georgia for joining us, it’s been a great experience for us and we wish you every success for the future. We reckon you could head up our marketing department in 5 years when you’ve finished with college and university! It’s a shame that the government is scrapping the work experience scheme, definitely feel it can benefit both students and employers.
